Biography

 Xiang-Xi Mike Xu obtained his B.S. in Chemistry from ZhongShan University (China) in 1984, Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Emory University (Atlanta, GA) in 1989.  He did his postdoctoral training at Columbia University (New York, NY) (1989-1992); and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, TN) (1992-1995).  Dr. Xu started as an Assistant Professor at Department of Biochemistry and Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University (1996-2000), was an Associate Member at Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia, PA) (2000-2007), and started as a Professor at the University of Miami in 2008.

Dr. X. Mike Xu uses mouse modles to study ovarian cancer biology and etiology, and to investigate the formation of primitive endoderm in early blastocysts and embryos.
