Biography

Dr. Yang is an established investigator in the field of stem cell biology and myeloid malignancies. Dr. Yang has been studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of myeloid malignancies. The ultimate goal of her research is to identify novel therapeutic targets and to develop rational therapies to treat myeloid malignancies. Dr. Yang has authored over 80 peer-reviewed papers in this field of research.

Dr. Yang started her independent career as an Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine and moved up her rank to a tenured Associate Professor there. In 2014, she moved to University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Yang is a member of several professional societies and serves on the review boards for a number of professional journals and funding agencies.
