Biography

Michael Miller, Ph.D., directs the implementation of evidence based practices at the Village South, Inc., a comprehensive community based substance abuse treatment center serving Miami-Dade County.  Dr. Miller serves as an intervention supervisor for Project HOPE (CTN 0049 study) and a supervisor and member of the protocol development team for Project RETAIN;  RCT’s studying the efficacy of two interventions for out-of-care HIV + individuals with high viral loads,  and in the latter case, cocaine use.  He is a training consultant to the South Florida Behavioral Health Network., and has provided training in Motivational Interviewing extensively in Miami and throughout the state.  Dr. Miller served as site-Principal Investigator for CTN-0014 Brief Strategic Family Therapy and CTN-0015 Women and Trauma.  Dr. Miller’s efforts at providing EBP sustainability resulted in the award to the Village by SAMHSA of the Science to Service Award for clinical interventions. Dr. Miller is past Vice President for Clinical Operations and Administrative Vice President of the Village.
