Biography

Dr. C. Hendricks Brown currently directs the NIDA and OBSSR funded P30 Center for Prevention Implementation Methodology (Ce-PIM) at Northwestern University, which focuses on HIV and drug abuse prevention. He is a member of the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM) at Northwestern University and serves on a SAMHSA advisory committee to integrate prevention into primary care.  He has strong interests in developing new methodology for prevention research, including developing innovative research designs for effectiveness and implementation trials, using computational approaches to improve monitoring and feedback of implementation strategies, and modeling the effects of implementation strategies using simulation models and mediation analysis.  He also co-chairs the Institute of Medicine’s Forum on Children’s Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health, which among other things focuses on moving effective interventions into practice.  He has strong interest in health equity and what we term scientific equity as well, working over the years with interventions for African Americans and Hispanics.
