Dr. Dileep Raghavendra Yavagal comes to the University of Miami as Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology, Director of Interventional Neurology. Dr. Yavagal brings a wealth of experience beginning with his extensive medical education; he earned his MBBS from Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College, Mumbai in 1994. From there Dr. Yavagal completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at King Edward Memorial Hospital also in Mumbai. He took his Residency in Neurology at Massachusetts General & Brigham & Women's Hospitals, and undertook multiple Fellowships in Critical Care Neurology, Interventional Neuroradiology and Neuroscience Research among others from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian, and UCLA Medical Centers, respectively.
Dr. Yavagal has held the positions of Attending Staff Neurologist at Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY, and Co-Director of the Neuroendovascular Division of Albany Medical Center. Since August 2004, he has served as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Albany Medical College, training two Interventional Neurology Fellows there from 2004 through 2007. Presently Dr. Yavagal is training three Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellows here at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Yavagal has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He serves a peer-reviewer for the Journal of Neuroimaging, and has given presentations both nationally and internationally on the subjects of neuroscience and neurointervention.
