Biography

Dr. Litsa K. Lambrakos is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Litsa Lambrakos completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where she graduated at the top of her class with a distinction in research. She subsequently completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California San Francisco. After residency, she worked as a Clinical Instructor at UCSF, treating patients with advanced heart failure. She then subsequently moved to New York to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Columbia University Medical Center. During her cardiology fellowship, she decided to pursue further subspecialty training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Columbia University and had the privilege to work under the direct supervision of one of the field’s experts, Dr. Hasan Garan.

Dr. Lambrakos treats patients with a spectrum of cardiac conditions, including simple and complex arrhythmias, syncope, and congestive heart failure. She has clinical expertise in the ablation of arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, as well as device implantation including biventricular devices, defibrillators, pacemakers and loop recorders. She performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests to help guide the treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders. She also has specialized experience in the care of patients with heart failure.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Lambrakos is involved in research and teaching. Dr. Lambrakos’ research interests include cardiac resynchronization therapy, atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac death.

Dr. Litsa Lambrakos is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the European Heart Rhythm Association, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
