Joanne Leahy

Assistant Vice President

Joanne Leahy joined the Office of Marketing in 2007. She previously was manager of community relations at UM/Sylvester at Deerfield Beach. Her responsibilities include overall marketing strategy for the health system, as well as branding and community outreach initiatives focused on promoting UHealth in the local, national, and international communities. Joanne has more than a decade of hospital marketing experience and was the director of marketing for a 50-physician medical group. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in liberal studies from the University of Miami.

Jeni Vazquez

Director of Marketing

Jeni Vazquez has been a Director in the UHealth/Miller Office of Marketing since 2008. In this role she manages several service line campaigns and community projects, serves as a producer for Breakthrough Medicine, UHealth’s documentary series, and collaborates on several other marketing initiatives. Jeni began her career in health care marketing in 2003 as marketing coordinator at Cedars Medical Center, which is now University of Miami Hospital. She was then appointed Director of Marketing for the hospital in 2006 and oversaw all marketing related projects and initiatives. Jeni received her bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Miami in 2001 majoring in International Finance and Marketing. She then received her MBA in 2003 from the University of Miami, specializing in Marketing and Management.

Christina Garcia

Director of Marketing

Christina Garcia joined UHealth/Miller Office of Marketing in 2010. Her responsibilities include creation of collateral material, marketing for the health system, as well as initiatives focused on promoting and branding UHealth. Christy has almost a decade of hospital marketing experience and received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University in 1999, specializing in marketing.

Tauffyt Aguilar

Online Marketing Director

Tauffyt Aguilar joined Uhealth/Miller Office of Marketing in March of 2010. His responsibilities include the creation and implementation of the health system’s strategic and tactical internet marketing strategies. Tauffyt has over 10 years of experience in implementing local, national and international internet marketing strategies in both business to business and business to consumer markets. He holds a double bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and International Business Administration from Florida International University.

Beatriz Carrazana

Business Operations Manager

Beatriz Carrazana joined the Miller School of Medicine in July 2006 and was instrumental in the launch of UHealth – University of Miami Health System and the Office of Marketing in 2007. In addition to assisting in the operations of the office, Beatriz’s responsibilities include coordination of budgeting, financial, and purchasing aspects of the Office of Marketing. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida International University.

Denise Cruz

Senior Administrative Assistant

Denise Cruz is the chief point of contact for the Office of Marketing and provides administrative support to the marketing staff. A native New Yorker, Denise spent 11 years teaching ESL in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and worked for 20 years in banking industry before relocating to Miami and joining the Office of Marketing staff in 2008.
